Spain Explained

Best Alicante golf courses you would love to join

Whether you are an experienced or emerging golfer there is a course and a club to suit your needs in Alicante. In this article we explain just why the region is so good for golfing as well as giving you some tips to the best golf courses in Alicante.

Why Alicante is so good for golfing

Do we need to list the reasons why Alicante is such a good place to practise your golf skills?

New Call-to-action

We could go on about the good weather, the clear skies and the absence of rain for most of the year. We could then talk about the convenient travel options, the proximity to beaches and top tourist attractions. But we think our discerning readers already know that Spain in general and Alicante in particular is perfect for both the keen and fledgling golfer

It’s been the case for many years that the golf industry in this part of the country has been growing and has established itself as one of the main sporting activities available. Altogether there are around 18 golf courses in Alicante that cater for the beginner to the experienced player and to find out about them you should visit their websites, or, of course, take recommendations.

One of the reasons that the area is so popular is that a golf course usually doesn’t exist on its own. Many of the golf clubs based here are more like full scale country clubs, with many other features and services available. Most clubs include a spa, swimming pool and have areas for entertainment and relaxation.

For example, La Finca Golf & Spa Resort in Algorfa, Alicante boasts five star accommodation. Alongside its three 18-hole golf courses there are a number of other sporting facilities including tennis courts and a gym. The hotel spa has a hot tub, outdoor pool and a range of treatments are available. Even if your partner isn’t a golf enthusiast, there is still plenty to do.

Wherever you choose, when you arrive make sure you familiarise yourself with what’s available to get the most from your stay. Most clubs have someone on hand who will speak your language and assist you in finding out about local events and other trips and excursions that you can take advantage of.

There is plenty of healthy competition in the area. However, we still recommend that you book your package at least six months in advance to be sure that you can choose the venue and stay that is right for you.
